Machine Learning Engineer – Medical Coding Automation
Location: USA - Remote, India - Bangalore or Mumbai
Be part of the innovation engine powering the future of medical coding. As a Machine Learning Engineer at OlleyaHealth, you will:
Develop and deploy machine learning models for CPT and ICD prediction, audit risk scoring, and claims validation.
Build and maintain data pipelines that support supervised and semi-supervised learning from clinical documentation, claims data, and EHR system outputs.
Work closely with our coding and revenue cycle teams to align model outputs with audit and billing standards.
Contribute to explainable AI (XAI) features, improving model transparency for coders, auditors, and compliance teams.
Integrate and test models in production environments using Python, MLflow, FastAPI, and cloud-native tools (e.g., AWS SageMaker, Docker, Airflow).
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience building and deploying ML/NLP models in production environments
Proficiency in Python, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, and SQL
Experience with LLMs, transformers, and RAG systems (e.g., OpenAI, LangChain, FAISS)
Familiarity with U.S. healthcare billing or medical claims data strongly preferred
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field
Quality Review Coder – Machine Learning Support
Location: India - Bangalore or Mumbai
Act as the clinical and coding interface between our AI models and real-world outcomes. In this vital role, you will:
Audit and validate ML-generated CPT and ICD code predictions, identifying and correcting discrepancies
Provide coding insights and annotations to guide model training and continuous performance tuning
Collaborate with the engineering team to improve model outputs, rule sets, and exception logic
Review medical notes, encounter documentation, and clinical language to ensure coding aligns with payer rules and E/M guidelines
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in U.S. medical coding, with strong expertise in outpatient E/M services
AAPC or AHIMA certification required (e.g., CPC)
Experience with AI/ML-supported platforms or auditing automated coding systems a strong plus
Familiarity with CMS guidelines, HCC coding, and multi-specialty documentation
Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate coding logic clearly
Certified Outpatient E/M Coder
Location: India-Bangalore or Mumbai
Leverage your deep coding expertise to support clinical operations, compliance, and AI training. In this position, you will:
Accurately review and code outpatient encounters, applying E/M, ICD-10, and CPT codes in line with CMS and commercial payer guidelines
Provide feedback and clarification to providers and documentation teams to support accurate coding
Assist in the development of coding examples and training sets used for ML model enhancement
Monitor documentation quality and contribute to denial reduction initiatives
Qualifications:
AAPC certification required (CPC, COC, or equivalent)
3+ years of experience in outpatient medical coding, with emphasis on E/M coding
Familiarity with primary care, urgent care, and multi-specialty clinic workflows
Experience working with EHR systems and coding audit platforms preferred
Ability to work independently and provide actionable insights to providers and coders
